Every girl wants her nails to be permanently beautiful and (even more important) healthy, right? Well, I definitely do. I’m one of those girls who does her nails in the morning on the way to work. To be honest; this is not the best time of the day to do it, cause entering the office with polish that is still wet can result in pretty awkward handshakes. As you can probably imagine.
Using regular nail polish also isn’t ideal when you have to type a lot for work, because my nails often chip and break on my keyword.
So I tried gelish. Nail polish that applies like normal polish and dries under a lamp in a few minutes. Gelish stays on for 2 to 3 weeks with no chipping or peeling, and soaks completely off in only a few minutes. At first I liked it a lot. But when I repeated it for too long without a break my nails became weak and started to hurt. I got so bad I couldn’t even open a can of soda. Also, when I did eventually get a chip in my nail, I couldn’t take them off myself.
For all these reasons I decided to try something new: Sopolish Protect & Peel. At first, the thought of a sticker on my nails wasn’t appealing at all… I want it to look professional, not ‘homemade’. But when the nail stylist started it immediately became clear that I was wrong to be sceptical. It’s just a super super-thin transparent layer which they put on your nails. Afterwards they can be painted with a nice colour, without hurting the nail itself.
I tried it at ProNails Premium Salon Pure Nails & Beauty in Antwerp. I’m happy with this healthy solution that gives extra strength and protects the natural nail. Look at the result!
